10 years on, and with 1.5 million sales, Dorling Kindersley decided it was time to update the original Survival Handbook with a commission for a new edition.  Whilst very little has changed in the basic survival principles and techniques I did think this would be a great opportunity to tweak some parts of the book and include relevant advances in some technologies.  Carron Brown and the team at Dorling Kindersley have done a great job (once again) of deciphering my notes and sketches,  and also managed to reduce the size of the book to one which will easily fit in a backpack.

I hope you enjoy the book and make time to practice the basic survival skills, so that if the worst should ever happen...  you are prepared.
